\nHi Ross, Can you\/someone tell me why #6 Anna Sophia Keller didn't advance to NXN? From what I have read, top 5 finishers not advancing as a member of a top 2 team advance to Nationals. #4 Kelcy Welch appears to have advanced with her Carmel Distance Proj team. That would make Anna the 5th qualifier. What am I missing? Thanks. If this is being discussed elsewhere, please share the link.

Glad the people in Indiana knew what to do. Hats off to the Midwest.
\nThat said, I would have loved to ease drop on what instructions were imparted by coaches of the NXN competitors.
\nSeemed to be a double edged sword. If you are going to race for first, do not rely on a big kick. Current runners probably know better than myself, but a strong headwind down the stretch can hinder the chasers as much as the leader.
\nOn the other hand, runners aiming for team points, could benefit from drafting and use the energy saved to move up enough down the stretch which can be a big point saver.
\nThe Stifel kid said he hoping to place in the top 20. On another day that might have been his faith. But he showed courage to go with it when he found himself in first. If he was running out of gas, others were running on fumes in terms of catching him.
\nIn horse racing, the old adage is to focus on horses for courses. Sunday proved that time is only important in prison, especially when where you finish is more important than the clock.
\nBased on Portland Meadow's history, Stifel may be the kid for that course and a top 20 finish may be too conservative.","date_added":"Nov 18th 2013, 10:18pm","nest":0,"liked":false,"member":[],"can_delete":false,"item_id":195816,"item_type":"news","pb_image":"i\/no_avatar.png","pb_title":"Bsarno1","pb_url":"profile.php?member_id=45736","pb_url_dns":"https:\/\/Bsarno1.runnerspace.com\/","pb_wally_id":"1116260"},"916699":{"pb_id":"43715","pb_type":"members","likes":"0","parent_id":"0","pid":"916699","comment_id":"916699","member_id":"43715","comment":"Here are the FINALIZED ratings for NXN-MW ... had to rate the races separately due to the conditions.
